Freshers' Week

Freshers' Week is one of the most important weeks of the year. It is a time when we meet, greet and welcome new Christian Students into university life and we reach out to non-Christians arriving at uni. However we need as much help as possible. Please sign up to help with events, more information can be found here. Please state which events you wish to help out with.

Committees

We believe that the CU is not the exec's CU or UCCF's CU rather you, the member's CU. We want you to be involved as much as possible and is why we're setting up some committees. These committees include Evangelism Committee, Freshers' and Events Committee, & House-Party Committee. Ask a member of the exec for more information.

Gift Day's

The Christian Union is not a rich CU, however it does its best with what it has, however things do need financing and by the the grace of God we intend to hold two gift days - one for the BBQ at the Lawns and one for Freshers' Week.

God's Missionary Heart

In term 3 we will be looking at God's missionary heart and how it's not just something God does but a part of who he is. Therefore, because we're made in God's image, and growing in Christ likeness - mission should be integral to who we are as Christians. There willl be five sessions with and evangelistic event in the middle. This is the most exciting series yet so please do come along.

Events Week Gift Day

The Christian Union once a year has something called events week (often known as missions week). This year is 15th to 19th Feb. It costs the CU lots and lots of money (hundreds of pounds) and as such we encourage you guys to give to the CU more than you normally do so that we may reach every student with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

There will also be a short presentation about giving.

The Lending Library

The Christian Union now has a lending library which you can find under the resources section. It is a great way to share resources that we all have. If you are unsure of what a lending library is then you're about to find out. A lending library is a list of books that are available to borrow (just like any library) except with a twist - the CU don't own the books, you do. That means you let us know what Christian books you are willing to lend, we stick them on the lending library, and then others can borrow them. You can also borrow other peoples books listed. All you have to do is ask the individual who the book belongs to. So enjoy and get borrowing.

The CU Vision

As a CU we are excited to have a vision , a direction to which we can be pursuing. God does amazing things and can save many people but "where there is no vision, the people perish" so we are pleased to reveal the CU vision for this year. So here it is:

Our vision is "to demonstrate a Godly presence on campus that reaches out and shows the Love of Jesus Christ to the lost students of Hull.  We want to live and speak for Jesus and be constantly growing in our love for him and each other so that we may better reflect the glory of God."
